It is New Year’s Eve, 1942, and a 27-year-old Italian American singer steps onto the stage of New York’s Paramount Theatre, about to deliver a performance that will change music history.

As Frank Sinatra’s career skyrockets, he finds himself torn between the love of his wife, Nancy, and the pressures and temptations of becoming the most popular singer in America. When he begins a passionate relationship with Ava Gardner, his records stop selling and the press turns against him, sending his career into a tailspin.
